Ad block is on, but still get the message that it's not
there are ads on the screen/page where the message appears and checking my ad blocker plus, it is disabled for this site. what's wrong?

As I said I turned off the Kaspersky extension and totally disabled the Ad Block plus, but still have the Kasp. total security protection on , and continue to receive notices that ads are being blocked. What else could be causing this? I've allowed banners in Kaspersky and popups, allowed ads in Chrome.
what other browser add ins are you running ? You can try temporarily disabling them one at a time until you figure out which is interfering with our page. Please let us know what you find.
