Canadian stocks in Canadian dollars ?

anthonymaw 4 years ago in Product Features updated by SA Admin Shubham Shresth 2 months ago 9

Sirs: How can I see Canadian stocks in Canadian dollars instead of US dollars.  I'm a Canadian investor and I really enjoy Seeking Alpha's web site but the stock quotes and other financial numbers are quite meaningless to me because they are converted to US dollars which is subject to exchange rate fluctuations that don't concern me.  If there is an existing way on the existing web site to change account settings to read CAD$ kindly advise, else please consider adding this is as a feature.  Thank you.

Answer

Hi there,

We are excited to announce the release of Canadian Stocks and ETFs coverage on our website and app!

.Key features available right now

  • Quotes, Author Ratings, Wall Street Ratings for all stocks listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange
  • Dollar figures listed in local currency (CAD)
  • Historical content for all tickers that are already listed on a US exchange
  • Portfolios
  • Alerts

Symbols with the suffix “ :CA “ are Canadian stocks and ETFs.

Custom View Feature needed - option for Industry, Sector and Ratings columns

For developers, it should be easy to allow an industry or sector to dominate a portfolio because we tend to focus on what we know and what interests us.
This is why having the option to include industry, sector and ratings in our custom portfolio view is important. It helps us manage diversity as well as risk.
I have certain sectors that interest me and want to choose the best Quant ratings in those sectors. Currently Seeking Alpha forces me to download to excel and then hand input each industry and sector then sort by Quant rating and sector.
Please add Industry, Sector and ratings as "Custom View" options for personal portfolios.

Show Sector and Industry in Portfolio Views

anonymous 1 week ago in Product Features updated by seeking-retirement 1 week ago 1

It would be helpful to optionally see the sector and industry in the portfolio views.  It's helpful with diversification.

Answer

Hi there,

Yes. Right now every portfolio is independent but we are working on this and should be rolling out the save custom view feature soon.

Portfolio Layout - Notes Column Needlessly Wide

ForeverNoob 1 month ago in Product Features updated 5 days ago 3

I view my portfolio on a vertical monitor and the portfolio is too wide. If the column for "notes" didn't needlessly take up so much space, that is, if it were more narrow, that would fix this issue. As it is, I have been viewing with my browser zoomed-out to 90%, but even then the portfolio is a bit too wide. The notes column should be made more narrow, or it should be possible to remove that column completely. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out.

I wish to note that we stopped Blogs feature in Dec 2021 itself and whatever blogs were appearing earlier, were old blogs.

With the new page layout, we have fully removed this section.

Since this is a feature which has been stopped more than 6 months ago, old blogs are not available anymore to see.

Please add the health score to stock screener pages

Dan_R 2 months ago in Product Features updated by SA Admin Shubham Shresth 2 months ago 1

The health score on the portfolio page is great, it's a quick way of assessing whether the SA quant model is mostly in tune with the portoflio.

This same feature would be excellent for the stock screener pages, it would provide a straightforward way of assessing whether the SA quant model is trending bullish or bearish on a particular sector, or on a custom screen the user had built.

Holdings by Sector

ForeverNoob 3 months ago in Product Features updated by Musab tofiq 3 months ago 4

I think it would be good if holdings by sector/industry were displayed as a pie chart somewhere on the portfolio page, maybe above or below the holdings.  Other key holdings information could be shown there too, maybe performance over time etc.
