Table Data Columns don't line up after cut and paste

When I cut and paste a table with columns the spaces get compressed from many down to one so the colums don't line up.  This is also evident when I post text with multiple spaces between words - the multiple space strings are reduced in length to one space. 

Is there a command or some other way to prevent "space compression" ?
