I hate the new mobile app that showed up on my phone unannounced and not requested. Theold one was compact and useful. The new one is overloaded and unusable. How do I get back to the previous version?
Completely agree. Phone also gets hot in a few minutes of app use. This looks like a version from a decade ago, when smartphones were just being adopted. Previous version was way better than this garbage. Don't try to improve things if you don't have any good ideas.
Why ask for the old app, which was WAY better than this new piece of crap? SA knows what's best for you.
its amazing how SO MANY ppl want the old app back - including me. I liked the simple legible text. On my iphone it is so hard to read with small print. Zooming doesnt help. We like simple [think:craigslist] with the facts and quick access to info. Oh and for god sakes, dark mode... Such easy simple things to do which would make me do a paid subscription. But the current app? No way. Someone listening out there?

In the last few months, we have been tirelessly working to improve our product and add more edge to your Seeking Alpha experience. We believe that the Dark Mode will help you enjoy your experience with Seeking Alpha even more.
The setting is already available to you and accessible on your app menu under Display Settings.
Go ahead and follow along to experience our new feature -
1.) Tap on the Hamburger menu to the upper left on your SA app
2.) In the menu, towards the bottom tap on Display Settings
3.) From the following options, under device settings choose 'On' to synchronize Dark mode as per your mobile device settings, or you can simply click on 'Dark Mode' to let it remain active at all times.
In the dark mode, your SA app will appear as follows -
