Articles from 'Muted" authors show on my feed????

I have a few authors muted due to their prolific almost daily writing encompassing way too many tickers because these articles clog up my feed.  BUT they still show in my feed.. an example would be Fredrik Arnold.. who I mute because each article he writes (often daily) does not fit what I want to see. 

How can I mute these articles?? why doesn't muting the author mute their articles??   Thanx.  Bea
