Phone is black when your app is used

Several days and weeks now, when trying to get in through the app, or through messages, the Iphone is locked and black. I can’t get out, I have to turn it off so I’m reluctsnt to use your service that I’m paying for... What shall I do? I can’t even Cancel my subscription
