headlines should not focus on non-GAAP

it seems if accounting rules are GAAP then that's what should be used in headlines - too many people read only headlines ... here's a recent example ... I ask that non-GAAP headlines stop. While the GAAP numbers are there and colored sufficiently - the headline COULD be misleading



Acuity Brands EPS beats by $0.17, beats on revenue

  • Acuity Brands (NYSE:AYI): FQ1 Non-GAAP EPS of $2.03 beats by $0.17; GAAP EPS of $1.57 misses by $0.01.
  • Revenue of $792M (-5.1% Y/Y) beats by $1.69M.
  • Q1 gross profit margin was 42.0% vs. 42.6% in last year.
  • Press Release
