Dividend data is incorrect?
Hi Guys,
Maybe I'm missing something, but dividend data seems to be incorrect
For example, here I see that 2020 dividend is 1.74:
https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CSWC/dividends/dividend-growth
While it is actually 2.04:
https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/cswc/dividend-history
And it is 2.04 here:
https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CSWC/dividends/history
And data for 2019 also seems to be incorrect in the table above.
I checked another ticker (IRM) and there is mismatch as well, so it looks like a systemic issue.
https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IRM/dividends/dividend-growth vs https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/irm/dividend-history
Do I miss something or the info on Seeking Alpha is misleading?
Hi,
For CSWC https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/CSWC/dividends/history
The dividends are categorized as regular 'quarterly' dividends and special dividends tagged as 'other'. If you add the 2 dividends from certain payment date, the amount will match that from the NASDAQ website.
Since special dividends are irregular in nature, they're excluded from calc. of dividend yield, growth, etc.
I'm investigating the issue with https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/IRM/dividends/history
Requesting your patience.
