The comment streams
I support the group who wants control of the comment threads returned to the blog/article authors. The comment streams are the heart of SA for us users.

Agreed. The main reason I'm here are the dividend declarations (those can be gotten elsewhere) and a couple of the blogs. If the idea behind this new blog format was to make them unusable and drive people away then consider the "update" a tremendous success. If that was not the intent, roll back to the old format.
The main blog I followed apparently has moved to another site because of the changes. I don't like its format as well as the old one here, but it is better than the new one on SA. Unless things are returned to the way they were I'm probably done visiting SA.
