Chat app has no space for input (Website)

When I go to the "The REIT Forum", (Which I am a member of) I see the author's page, and the chat app on the right, however, the chat app has no space for me to type into.  I can send the members direct messages, and the menu item (Note A) with the 3 horizontal bars allows me to select #general, or people I have had DM conversations with, but it does not allow me to select "The REIT Forum".

I've tried erasing my cookies and re-signing in, but the behaviour is the same.

I'm using Chrome Version 64.0.3282.119 (Official Build) (64-bit).
