Something else SA management doesn't get, from author's POV

Many SA articles provide only partial information to support their thesis.  Many refer to previously published work by themselves or others for critical detail.  Why repeat what has been written before, when a link to the source can be embedded in the article?  Now those links lead to paywalls.  Even links to the author's previous work.
