App is repeatedly showing the same 5 or 6 notifications over and over

I thought i was going crazy but it is the app. Sometimes it shows over 100 new notifications but on browsing you suddenly notice its repaeting groups of notifications. Problem has been there for weeks now. I was hoping it would be fixed in a short time since it is blatantly obvious.
