Holding does not equal following

A "holding" is a position in an equity. "Following" is a desire to hear/read news related to something. That I do not wish to read the 25 thought pieces on a widely followed ETF does not mean I do not have a substantial investment in it and wish to continue tracking its gains and losses. Yet, when I unfollowed, for example, VBR, it was removed as a holding from my portfolio. That makes no sense. Please decouple the Follow button from affecting any holdings.
