Permanent app icon badge notification

After the latest update, the main app icon badge shows “2” notifications, all the time no matter whether I’ve read and cleared all the articles. The main app icon badge notification has never showed a correct count that matched the number of articles listed, but now it always shows “2”. It never goes away.

Did that. Initially after reinstalling, the “2” on the badge would appear briefly, then disappear whenever switching to the app. But after a couple of minutes, it’s permanently stuck at “2” again.

did that. No change. No matter how many new articles there are or how many I’ve read, the badge icon counter NEVER changes from “2”.
