First time since joining seeking alpha I’m Receiving a free article limit message for about a week now.Didn’t receive any email or notice about a change on the site and not sure if others are experiencing same issue or if it’s a glitch I’m experiencing.  If there is a new article limit how many is it and how/when does it reset?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!

In order to continue providing our users with outstanding financial analysis and news, we changed our Paywall policy in January 2021.

You can read more about this change here: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4396836-important-update-for-seeking-alpha-users

The good news is that you can still access any article on any stock, even without a paid subscription, though there is a monthly limit to how much you can read.

This limit is dynamic to the individual member, based on the device they use, the traffic source, and a number of other parameters. It resets itself every 28 days
.

If you want to keep reading past the limit, you can just go ahead and start your free two-week trial of Seeking Alpha Premium - no commitment required.

Premium, apart from providing you unlimited access to analysis articles also provides you with many other powerful tools that can help you with your investing. You can get an overview of the service here.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out in case further assistance is required.

You all need a better answer than this.  If this policy went into effect in Jan 2021, explain how so many of the people commenting on this thread are saying they are getting "you have reached your article limit" for the first time?  Your answer is just not believable and it appears you are not addressing it.  I should have received this message in Jan 2021 as I read a lot of articles every month.  I believe this strategy is a bad one and you are going to lose a lot of readers, many who make your comment section so lively and valuable!

Like so many other people I am unaware of the policy and find that this is now a worthless site. I will also be cancelling my subscription with the author (s)

i will seek a new avenue for all of my stock information, and share this with my many friends who are probably going to do the same. We talk stocks and share information regularly.

The articles, although some were lacking, other articles seemed perceptive and well done, I now find myself asking, what is this? Folks, not just me, but many others who have commented here have mirrored my thoughts. I now feel like I have been ripped off. I don't like your hand in my pocket and since you have taken advantage of my naivete, please know that you won't get the chance again.

My profile shows I have subscriptions to Premium and Marketplace. When did this occur as I have not signed up for rhose. One of your many popups with the tiny "x" maybe?

Is that why I now have an article limit?

Hopefully they will reconsider this policy. My understanding is that authors get paid per click? I can't see very many authors contributing to a website that limits how many clicks each user can make. Terrible policy, worse implementation. We readers hate surprises. I plan to move on to another source of nees if this stands.

Long time user myself.  Always enjoyed the comment section the most.   A few articles did lead me to stocks that I ended up buying but mostly was interested in getting info on the stocks I already owned.

Same problem here. I have been busy lately and have not read anything on SA. The first article I opened today gave me the message about the free article limit. I very rarely ecnountered this message before. So something must have changed in the last couple of weeks. This could be some kind of bug that will be resolved, or a permanent feature that may drive customers away from SA - please tell us which one it is so that we can act accordingly! Also, somewhere on SA it should be stated clearly and precisely what the limitation is, and in each profile one should be able to see how many free articles they still have available.

Like other readers mentioned was not interested in trying the free trial. Been a member reading articles every day since 2012. Now all the sudden no free articles to read??? A really good way lose readerships including myself. Makes no sense!! Please reconsider.

I was still getting emails on articles I could no longer read. I have now discontinued all emails from seeking alpha and would suggest anyone else not happy with the policy limiting reading articles do the same.  If all the free long term users like myself (since 2012) stop getting any emails and stop reading any articles eventually those who write the articles won’t be getting paid and their own subscription services will drop and seeking alpha will be a dying service.  Like others I really got some great information from the comments section  sometimes even more than the article itself.  It’s a sad day when seeking alpha bites the hand that feeds them.

Amazing with all the negative comments here that only one person from SA attempted to answer the deluge.  Someone from senior management needs to provide some clear and concise answers as to what is really happening here, otherwise you are just hiding behind your paywall.  Never a good strategy!
