Flash Sale exclusion

Received and email from SA about a flash sale, one year of premium for $39. According to the offer it is not available to previous subscribers. I was a previous free service user (years ago) but never a paying subscriber however the system will not let me take advantage of the offer. Why did I you send me the offer if you knew it would not apply to me?  Doesn't make sense because I never in the past paid for a subscription to SA.
