Are emails only way to get all alerts on my porfolio?

Hi.  I unsubscribed from Email alerts because I was getting too many of them and thought that they were all in the app anyway.  However, today I discovered under Latest on the website there are a lot of articles on stocks in my portfolio that are not listed in the app.  I figured that's what the Notifications selection on the app was for.  If it is, it is missing a lot on the app.
