Notifications tab resets to top

When I use the notifications tab to view news and I click into an article, when I return to the notifications list, it resets to show the top of the list. I want it to stay where I was in the list, like it did yersterday, so I can scroll through it and read at my leisure. Please correct this issue. Samsung Galaxy s8.
