# of followers s/b posted even when I already follow someone
For folks I don't follow, the # of followers is reflected under the 'follow' button. It would be helpful to still show the # of followers even after I start following someone, as it's very helpful to see if an author is gaining traction with the Seeking Alpha user base.

You can still view that info in the author page along with many other metrics about the author. Even more information is available to premium subscribers such as how authors rated stocks and what happened to the stock after they published their rating.
