The comments section has become useless due to trolls

The SA comments section used to be the pride of the Internet. Bad articles got shot down by savvy readers and good debate was had on the pros and cons of the investment idea.

These days are long gone. Now, every article is littered with trolling comments and downright hateful writings by an endless army of trolls hiding behind nicknames. 

And I don't think that these people are simply bored people with nothing better to do, at least not all of them. Increasingly I believe this is orchestrated by political think-tanks, maybe even foreign governments who want to drive a wedge between their opponent countries. 

Do something about this now when there's still something left to save!

One practical idea I had was to give users an option to filter out comments from non-verified users or users whose accounts haven't existed for long. For an idea, look how the comments section works on slashdot.org, it's been around a long time.

I agree there is one troll Virtue16. Bad news destroys it for everyone.

SA can't request to be paid if it leaves pure garbage mounting.

This is like streets, they need to be cleaned up.

I am not complaining about an opposing view.

I am complaining about professionals who come here to pollute the debate with patently false information.

These people are mind viruses.

I get rid of viruses, I don't nurture them, especially when I pay for information.
