I receive notifications to my phone, but the notifications section of the iOS app has not updated in several days. I cleared it, but now it has just been blank for ~48 hours.

Have you tried reinstalling the app?
I have not. This occurred a month or two ago, and it resolved itself after a week or two. Reinstalling the app is an option, but inconvenient.
We are working on a fix for this issue that should be live in the next version.
