Loosing entry point in news article list.

I am using an Iphone seven.

When I finish reading an article and use the arrow key to return to the news list it send me back to home/trending articles.  This is an intermittent problem.  It is frustrating when you are way down in the the news article list.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
