What happened to the portfolio view? Between yesterday and today it totally changed and the information I regularly use to monitor and evaluate stock has been scrambled.

Is the old view recoverable?  How?

This new interface of portfolio views isn't working. It's not an improvement. Represents junior level software design. You could have very easily provided an option of original vs "new and improved".

Hi all,

I will try to answer some of the queries raised above.

The new portfolio page is packed with a lot of useful features while keeping everything that you loved about the old portfolio.
1. JUMP TO ARTICLES - You can jump to articles related to your portfolio by clicking on 'View Headlines' on the far right or you can collapse your list of stocks by clicking on your portfolio name (Portfolio 1, in this case) and clicking 'All Portfolio'

2 EDIT HOLDINGS - You can edit shares in a lot by clicking on shares and then choose to edit or add lots:
A.

B.

C.

D.

3. SORT ALPHABETICALLY - You can also arrange your stocks alphabetically by clicking on the symbol column, and then arrange them in ascending/descending order and you can also have a custom sort on any other column like 'Change %', 'Volume' etc. Your desired sorting will be saved by default.

Additionally, you can view a lot of helpful metrics like Earnings (to track earnings call date), Growth, Performance etc. that will aid you in managing your portfolio.
I'm sure in due time you will find the new portfolio page very useful and friendly.

All my portfolios are gone for some reason and I am still getting emails related to the stocks in my portfolios.

Any help here?

Is there a way to have a collapsed view of a stock with multiple lots that shows the total average numbers? If I purchase shares of a stock every 2 weeks, eventually I’ll have a screen with hundreds of entries just for one stock. Multiply that by even a handful of stocks and this will get extremely cumbersome. While I might like/need to see the history of individual purchase prices/dates every once in awhile, the vast majority of the time I want to see how my total holdings for a stock are performing as a whole.

I completely agree. It is such a pain to look at a list of stocks where every lot is listed on a separate line. And the summary page doesn't show you the consolidated share count either (and neither can you customise it to add that in a new column). SA seem to have let the IT guys loose on this and most of them probably dont trade or manage a portfolio. I've only just signed up to the free trial of the premium version, but if SA are going to let IT guys loose on the design of this site without any feedback taken from users (or feedback listened to after the fact), I doubt if I will be using the paid version after the trial. It's pathetic how people who dont know what theyre doing are allowed to design a site

I'd also like to mention here that we have acknowledged that there's a duplication issue with the launch of the new Portfolio Page, and we're working on resolving this.
Requesting your patience and continued support.

This was posted 7 months ago and the problem is still not fixed - is this what you mean when you ask for patience? As for continued support - you can forget that if you take more than 7 months to fix a cosmetic issue!!

You know what would be helpful is a full instructional site for this new product.  It is not intuitive and does not add value to traders who use your platform.  You may have added some bells and whistles but you've lost the core functionality and ease of use the old platform contained.  Unfortunately, your attempt to make it better has made it harder to use and less useful.  I will continue to use your research and articles but this new tracker is not one that I plan on trying to figure out.  I was going to sign up for your Premium service but with this change I don't think the money spent would be worth it.  Moving on to find a new tracker that works like your old one.

Hi Jerry - did you find a better alternative. I dont intend to pay for the premium after my trial period ends as the portfolio management on this site is horrible. I like the articles and research capabilities, but if I cant manage my portfolio and see earned dividends, I'd rather to to MorningStar premium, which at least allows for good research and reports and has a portfolio tracker which appears to be better than this

Hi 21793061,

I'm sorry that you find the new update distasteful. While we have users who appreciate the wide library of stock analysis and news on SA, we have other users who appreciate our coverage of financial and performance-related information, and with this new update, we have tried to create a balance in providing both kinds of information.

We value your feedback and request your patience with this new layout, I'm hopeful that in due time you will find merit In this new update.

There is no merit in the portfolio management part of this. I will not be taking up premium as I had hoped to. Congratulations on sticking with a failed new design that is going to lose SA customers

agree with everyone above. nobody cares to track their performance via the portfolio page on sa. people use it for news and research. unless sa is trying to become a brokerage? too late for that...

it is currently much better than the first day you've rolled it out. at least i can minimize all of the tickers i follow (hundreds upon hundreds) and focus on the headlines instead.

Hi Vic - do you use an alternative for tracking portfolio. Would appreciate a recommendation if you use a good one elsewhere

I have the opposite problem that others have. I used to have my portfolio sorted alphabetically, but somehow it has been changed to being sorted to largest gains up top. I have tried to reset to 'sort alphabetically' but it doesn't change anything. Now I can't track my stocks without a long search time.

How do I alphabetize my portfolio? Please do not tell me that if I click on symbol I can rearrange them from A-Z or Z-A.  I did have those options but now I don't even have them - not that they worked

Please let me know, Thanks

I suddenly can not access Stock Portfolio Tracker. It requires further autentification even if I am logged in.
