What happened to the portfolio view? Between yesterday and today it totally changed and the information I regularly use to monitor and evaluate stock has been scrambled.

Is the old view recoverable?  How?

This new interface of portfolio views isn't working. It's not an improvement. Represents junior level software design. You could have very easily provided an option of original vs "new and improved".

Hi all,

I will try to answer some of the queries raised above.

The new portfolio page is packed with a lot of useful features while keeping everything that you loved about the old portfolio.
1. JUMP TO ARTICLES - You can jump to articles related to your portfolio by clicking on 'View Headlines' on the far right or you can collapse your list of stocks by clicking on your portfolio name (Portfolio 1, in this case) and clicking 'All Portfolio'

2 EDIT HOLDINGS - You can edit shares in a lot by clicking on shares and then choose to edit or add lots:
A.

B.

C.

D.

3. SORT ALPHABETICALLY - You can also arrange your stocks alphabetically by clicking on the symbol column, and then arrange them in ascending/descending order and you can also have a custom sort on any other column like 'Change %', 'Volume' etc. Your desired sorting will be saved by default.

Additionally, you can view a lot of helpful metrics like Earnings (to track earnings call date), Growth, Performance etc. that will aid you in managing your portfolio.
I'm sure in due time you will find the new portfolio page very useful and friendly.

Somebody in SA is getting paid to screw around with the web pages and does it from an IT standpoint, with no thinking from a media standpoint.

I have some of my positions under holdings listed 2 or 3 times?  Wonder if this will be corrected or if I need to clean up the mess!!

The new portfolio view is incorrect, which is pretty bad for this function, and I don't seem to be able to edit holdings at all - it's all grayed out. This is now an ok feature anymore unfortunately.

there is no point in looking at my protfolio over SA if I have double positions. Not an improvement!!

when I click on seekng alpha emblem - portfolio view was always in a box on left side with news on the right so that you dont have to scroll around - can we or you move it back to that location?

The new view is horrible - I want to see all my stocks in all my portfolios with the biggest movers on top - it was a great way to get a quick view of what is going on with all my stocks and watchlists. This new view is crap. They should give you an option on whether to replace it with the old view or go to a new one. If this is what they are doing, I'll be leaving SA

Please SA, revert to the previous portfolio view, or offer an option to revert. Why change what was working fine?

I came to SA because of Google Finance changed their portfolio trackers for no apparent reason. SA was the best option for portfolio tracking that I could find at that time. So I joined SA and use it constantly, daily.

Now here we are again... I'll have to start looking around again for another website. Hopefully you'll fix this quickly.

I believe I'm also experiencing what these folks are talking about. I have a "Seeking Alpha" link on my Chrome bookmarks bar, and have for a few years. Used to be, I clicked on that and I got a page that included an article feed for stocks of interest to me (because the site keeps me signed in, I guess). Now, I just get my portfolio, which actually isn't my true portfolio but, instead, a list of stocks I'm following, some of which I own and some of which I don't. But no news and article feed.

What happened? I'm here as a refugee from the Yahoo stock boards, which once had the best place on the Web to talk about, and seek information about, stocks. Then the former ownership of Yahoo decided to wreck that site in ways too involved to go into here. So I looked around and found SA. After an adjustment period, I began to like SA better than Yahoo, though I continue to track my real portfolio with Yahoo. But I always suspected that the SA management would eventually screw it up just like Yahoo did and now this change in my personal landing page, as well as the incessant pleas to pony up for Premium, are providing evidence that the screw-up has begun.

My advice to SA: There will always be somebody else ... some hungry start-up ... that's providing it for free. 'Cause that's how the Web rolls.
