please reverse the auto signup for following SA interviews, etc following
I didn't ask to follow this stuff. And it is hard to reverse the signups.

Hi,
The best place to manage this is here:
https://seekingalpha.com/account/edit_authors
Just curious- the only place following these authors should impact is the new "People" page. Have you been using it? If not, what's the reason you want to unfollow these authors?
Daniel, to also answer your question - the authors that your editors feel are worthy of promotion, interviews, and the like - are generally authors that I do not respect at all. Some are even authors that I would like to block - if you'd ever implement that feature.
These 4 push content sources are in my people article feed and it is impossible to get rid of them. Shows up even though I am not following them. And can't get rid of them as option within my list of followers even though it says not following. Just want it gone.
And don't want email notification of s someone responding in this forum. Too much push content.
Hi,
The addition of these 4 author follows should not impact any SA experience beyond the new "People" page and the author following newsletter (if you are subscribed). It does not sign you up for real-time author alerts on these authors.
You can unfollow these authors very easily here: https://seekingalpha.com/account/edit_authors
Regarding forum email alerts, you can stop getting them for a specific thread by clicking this button:
Thanks,
Daniel
The David Jackson message (sent 3+ times!) along with the auto signup said we could give feedback here. This is user feedback. You don't have to change your practices. But don't debate user feedback, especially when you requested it.
P.s. Not one person has started a thread to say how great this idea was...
I hear loud and clear your point about not making changes to users' accounts without their initiation, and I apologize for the upset we caused you.
Just so you know: we did not sign anyone up for emails, this only impacts an area of the website which is new, and the accounts are core Seeking Alpha accounts which we believe are an intrinsic part of our product, such as Editors' Picks, but which many of our users aren't aware of.
If you want to unfollow those accounts, you can do so by going to "People", clicking on the "Following" box on the left hand side of the page, and unfollowing the 4 accounts there.
I apologize for the extra work for you.
Thank you for the feedback! A few points of apology (!) and clarification:
- I apologize for the repeat messages. I didn't personally send the message multiple times -- I would NEVER have done that. There was a bug in our system which resulted in that. Our tech team has fixed the bug and deleted the repeat messages, but not before many users had seen them. I apologize for that -- it's really unpleasant to be hectored by a message being sent multiple times.
- I hear loud and clear your point about not making changes to users' accounts without their initiation, and I apologize for upset caused.
- To clarify a common misunderstanding: we did not sign anyone up for emails, this only impacts an area of the website which is new, and the accounts are only core Seeking Alpha accounts which we believe are an intrinsic part of our product, such as Wall Street Breakfast and Editors' Picks.
I (just now, a minute ago)went into my account and turned off all email alerts so hopefully this problem is sorted. (This was turned off before, but something turned it on.)
Note it has gotten harder to turn off emails. Here was the footer from a previous email on 24DEC when it was easy to unsubscribe (notice the "unsubscribe from all" button):
Seeking Alpha, 52 Vanderbilt Avenue, 13th floor, New York, NY 10017
Update your email preferences | Unsubscribe from CDEV | Unsubscribe from all emails
Here is the footer from the 26DEC WS Breakfast email:
Why are you receiving this great newsletter? You subscribed to Wall Street Breakfast at Seeking Alpha.
Unsubscribe from this email or manage all your Seeking Alpha email choices here.
[Note that I had to go "manage my email choices" and navigate some menus to unsubscribe all emails, when before there was a helpful button.]
I think it is pretty effing sleazy for the SA team to sign me up to follow people that I am not interested in following. If you have a new feature, then it is fine to let me know about it but do not ever sign me up without my permission.
