How do I change my settings to get real time alerts for authors that I follow on the page that lists them all in My Feed?

I am no longer getting email alerts for one of the authors that I follow (but am getting them for others and am, therefore, receiving email from SA). When I look at the list of those authors in My Feed, the only thing that is shown is that I am following (and I can click to unfollow). I noticed articles by said author that I follow that I did not receive emails for. Short of unfollowing and refollowing to bring up the dialog box, how can I verify that I am getting the real time alerts?
