Some notifications won’t open

When I get notifications, some of the circles to the left are empty.  When I click on that notification, I get kicked out of seeking alpha on my iPad.  Doesn’t happen on my wife’s iPad.  We paid for  seeking Alpha Essential.  She doesn’t get any ads, but I do.  The notifications that are above and below the ad won’t open and I get kicked off.  This is very annoying.
