On stock price graphs, the peak price reflected on y-axis for the one year graph cannot be higher than the peak price on the five and ten year graphs, yet often this is not the case. Five and ten year peaks are often lower than one year peaks.

Alibaba (BABA) is an example. One year price peak is greater than 5 and 10 year peaks.

Hi,

I looked at BABA on a few other sources (Bloomberg, Yahoo Finance) and they all have the same behavior. The reason being is that 1Y charts generally take a 1 day sample/resolution and 5Y or 10Y charts take a week sample/resolution. So it can happen that the day a stock peaked is not drawn on a 5Y or 10Y chart.
