Annoying pop-ups for SA "premium service"

maillot jaune 1 year ago in Website updated by Scotts.files55 1 month ago 105 4 duplicates

Is it really necessary to get a pop-up asking me to subscribe to your premium service every 5-10 clicks? Beyond annoying.

Pop-ups

Popups hijacking browser behavior, sticking you at the top of articles when you were trying to see the newest comments, locking free features under "notable calls".

This website will burn as you chase away your value.

+2

Good point khanjar24  about the ridiculous popups screwing up the new comments.

Whenever I get a popup, I exit Seeking Alpha.

The more they spam the less I use SA

Stop the annoying pop ups Seeking Alpha

+1

Agreed, this is now at obscene levels of forcing ads in front of me that I click out of every time. Not only is it a bad UX, it is a very low-rent tactic as well. If it doesn't stop soon I'm going to go elsewhere for stock charts, info & commentary. I like SA but there are plenty of other places to get the same stuff.

+4

Pop ups even screw up the new comments on a page      Yahoo Finance is looking better with each Seeking Alpha pop up

Your annoying pop ups screw up the new comments to where we have to hunt and peck to find the new comment instead of getting directly to them.

When this happens, I just leave for a few hours.

STOP THE STUPID POP UPS

As you can tell from the comments, these are annoying. Or perhaps in the message that says one of my portfolio stocks has news I can use in the premiums service actually included the ticker, I could just remove it from my portfolio.

Can't Seeking Alpha just accept a "No, I don't want it" answer, and remember it?"

+2

Keep hitting me 3 times a day and I'll stop using seeking Alpha altogether.

+4

3 times a day? It's about every few clicks.... it's annoying as hell..

+2

I agree: Please stop this anmnoying hard-popup.  You've already driven me to another site for my primary financial news watch.  If it continues, I'll just move to another site altogether.  Please remember my choice when I close the popup.

PS: I get it: You want people to upgrade to the PREMIUM service.  I don't want it.

PPS  Really, I undertstand, and you don't need to remind me every time I refresh the page, but I still don't want the service.

PPPS: Seriously.  You can stop now.

+3

Once again Seeking Alpha wants me to sign up for their Premium Service.

I've only been asked over 1000 times before, and I don't want it anymore now than I did the first time you asked.

Somehow, you are determined to try to change this.

Seems you've adopted the My Pillow blitzkrieg strategy to ANNOY PEOPLE TO DEATH

STOP THE POP UPS

Seeking Alpha -- Stop the annoying Pop Ups

Seeking Alpha - stop trolling your users with POP UPS for your Premium Service

You are worse than Geico Commercials or the My Pillow guy with your spam

+1

Seeking Alpha, STOP the damn pop ups!!!!!

Now you are doing another pop up trying to send me notifications.

You are spamming your users to death

Stop the ANNOYING Pop Ups Seeking Alpha

Seeking Alpha, stop trying to send "notifications" and spam users constantly with pop ups

+1

Stop the popups!  I am not interested in whether on of my portfolio has been upgraded or down graded , not interested in "Pulling the Trigger" on a stock, etc.  I get lots more than three.  Disgusting Ads!

+2

And what about that annoying "your portfolio is out of date" popup?

Indeed, how can my portfolio be out of date... it's just pathetic. Not that I care, I quit using SA and using other sources because I'm definitely not going to pay for services when they're behaving like this.

+2

It seems the solution to annoying your customers with website popups was to make them trigger more often!  Brilliant!

Its as if SA is TRYING to run off anyone who does not pay. Its going to be very effective at doing that. Signing up new subscribers? Absolutely NOT.

Stop or I'm bailing - totally obnoxious.

Ge some website developers who haven't just finished school.

What a bad way to do businees adding pop up window every 10 seconde booooooo

I'm using Firefox - all I can do is look at my portfolio. Anyone else getting this?

Everything else gets an ad in front of it that can't be worked around.

Same here. Using with Firefox, basically everything is blocked with continuous popups. Basically can't use this website anymore.

Anyone paying attention ? I can't rear a single article !

FYI, article Paywall is now in place.....

Can't read anything anymore

-1

Same issue here.  VERY annoying.

-1

Getting your popup with EVERY access of Seeking Alpha.  Will not continue to patronize a site that uses your absurd tactics.OXFK

Everybody I spoke to is so disappointed by the course of action of SA. Big mistake from SA in our opinion.

If you want to continue to read every article in this site without paying the high subscription send me an email at:

koutsocheras99@yahoo.com to guide you.

I've had a similar experience - I was offered another Free Trial (despite me having one a month or so ago) followed through and when I clicked 'Start your Free Trial Now' I was charged $29.99 for a ONE MONTH subscription. I've requested a refund as this is completely unacceptable.

I use the SA mobile phone app just to look at my portfolio - it's an easy to read at a glance screen.

I've gone back to Fidelity and TD Ameritrade for news. I read (or looked at) many SA articles on a whim. For the most part, I would go straight to the comments section - that would tell me pretty quickly if the article was worth reading. Who would even click on "5 reasons to buy... and 5 reasons to sell" articles" ? written by people who don't even own the stock !

I don't normally waste my time on commenting like this, but SA has only gone down hill over the years.

how can one cancel their subscription??
