Thank you for bring this to our attention. There should not be any ads with auto play sound running on any of our properties. As a part of our business model, we do work with third party monetization companies, however this should never be at the expense of user experience. We will contact our partners and instruct them to block this advertiser.

Thanks again and apologies for any inconvenience.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Seeking Alpha has been working on identifying and removing the offending ad unit since you reported it earlier today. Although these issues are extremely tricky to identify the source of, we have taken the step of turning off the advertiser partner that we believe is responsible for this severe breach of our terms.

My sincerest apologies that you were subjected to this ad creative. Please let me know if you see this again.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for bringing this to our intention.

In order to be able to upkeep our business model we have to partner with third party advertising solutions, through which we have strong advertising content blocks in place. It seems that this one has slipped through the net.

We should have political content blocked as standard, so we have reached out to our partner to request that they check their blocks and remove this immediately.

Apologies and thanks again for reaching out, feedback really helps us to seek and destroy these types of ads.

Thank you for the feedback and apologies or the poor experience.. This type of ad material should be blocked from all of our partners as standard. Would you happen to have the name of the app or url of the advertiser? That information will greatly assist us in our search for the guilty party.

Thanks again,

Hello,

Thank you for flagging this and apologies that you are experiencing such a poor experience in our app. Are you are seeing this ad on any other app or site on your phone? The only reason I ask is that, we do not allow video ads on any of our properties and certainly no ads that would take over the screen. That being said, on occasion our advertising partners can violate our terms and serve something outside of our restrictions, so we will ensure that none of our partners are doing this.

Hello,

Thank you for bring this to our attention. It is an issue associated with the Z Index of the content Vs the Z Index of the ad. Basically the Z Index of the content should always be the highest possible Index Number (2147483647) in order for it to be impossible for ads to overlay the content.

Would you happen to have the url for this specific page in order for our dev team to be able to resolve the issue?

Thanks again and best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for flagging this issue and apologies for the inconvenience caused. Our partner is working on a resolution, however I have removed them from showing on Safari while they are resolving the Issue .

You may potentially need to clear your cache/browsing history in order to resolve the issue (but that should not be necessary), however you should now be okay.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and I completely understand your frustrations.

We would not allow advertising that covers content or outside of the regular ad unit positions. It looks like you may have adware/malware on your device. This actually happened to me when I typed in seekngalpha.com in error and the page there downloaded a malicious program to my machine. I ran MalwareBytes and it did not detect any malware, however I then checked my programs for recently updated/downloaded programs and it was hiding in a fake download for a well known meeting program. I removed that and I no longer saw these ads.

That being said, do you have a screen shot of this happening on Seeking Alpha? so that I can make sure that none of our advertising partners are violating our partnership terms.

Thanks again,
