OMG, SA, FIX THIS GARBAGE!

I am logged in. I read 90% of an article, having to scroll a couple times as the article was longer thank a page.

Get almost to the bottom of the article and your God damn PRESS & HOLD appears and, of course, fails to work when you press & hold until the bar fills up.

As I have said before, of all the sites all over the internet where security matters much more than here yet I NEVER have seen this issue except with you.

I love reading an entire article, scrolling through some of the comments and then, out of nowhere after being on an article for 10 minutes or more the PRESS & HOLD comes up!

Not always just when you open an article but long after you had a page open.

OF all the websites I use why is it they cannot get this right? The only other website that I have seen this same check done, except it actually works properly, is I get it maybe once per month on Zillow.

SA - DITCH THIS PLEASE

"many of the Press & Hold occurrences happen to users that are using selenium based automation tools and any kind of user agent spoofing."

So.

Many is not all. Plenty of people have the issue just trying to, for example, read an article and then see a ticker in the article and doing a right-click open to bring up the security in another window so we can look at the stock or ETF being talked about without having to close the article.

I have NO automation tools and this issue happens in more than one browser.

This is a you issue as look at how many people post about it and of all the websites I use with security, login, etc. from banking, to state government business records, SafeSend, brokerage firm, credit agencies, etc. only YOUR site has this stupid problem.

Either you are using the wrong tool for security or you believe that articles about investing are only available on SA and must be protected more than any other record on the internet.

You still addressing this garbage issue that was self made?

Just checking in 3 months later than your comment.

Seems to be the same.

This is so goddamn annoying!

How is it that I can read multiple articles with no issues and then, out of nowhere BAM! Press & Hold comes up.

Yes, Java is enabled. Yes, cookies, blah blah blah are good to go. Nothing has changed on my end.

It is so random! Half the time simply refreshing the page makes it go away. You know since most of the time actually doing the Press & Hold only makes the Press & Hold not go away and demands to be done again and again and again all the while telling me that I have to check my browser Java settings to make sure they are enabled.

For the developers - the issue for me, almost always goes away on a page refresh for that one instance. If I later on, without closing the browser, open a new tab and come back to SA later in the day it blocks me again. But, like before, refreshing the page almost always clears up the issue.

I cannot see where it has that option, less I am blind.

You could always fake it by adding the ticker SWVXX (Schwab Value Advantage Money Fund) and using that to track your cash balance. It is a money market mutual fund that holds a price of $1.00 per share so market moves won't change your cash position.

I also should have stated that, for me, this started only a couple days ago. Now it is constant.

Win 10 Pro, always updated.

Brave Version 1.21.77 Chromium: 89.0.4389.90 (Official Build) (64-bit)

YES!

It is extremely annoying!

For sure that is bullshit.

When you consider how you can't even tell it is from SA it is just a pop-up that tells you to click on it.

The first few times I thought it was a pop-up that wanted me to click on it to execute malicious code.

I still won't click on it as their approach to the "robot" issue that they seem to be having (or is a made up fear) is a bad one.
