Add me to all those who will discontinue browsing Seeking Alpha. In my experience there was some value in a few of the articles, and a little value added to those by the comments. But most articles were essentially subtle or not so subtle advertisements for paid services offered by the authors. Many days the article lists for “Portfolio Strategy” and “Dividends & Income” were, more than anything, reminiscent of touts selling tip sheets outside of the entrance to a horse racing track. For entertainment value and the occasional articles/comments that had some thought provoking aspect, a subscription of $4.95 a month might save the subscription base. But good luck with your plan, Seeking Alpha. I think you have severely overestimated the value of your product to your potential audience. I wonder if the content will dry up also, as authors who have been using Seeking Alpha as an advertising platform will find the lower traffic volume doesn’t warrant their efforts to continue to write for it.
