I was thinking about paying for the upgrade because I use user comments, plus the authors, for stock ideas.  After reading these comments, I will have to pass.  Very disappointing to hear subscribers complain they can't cancel membership, can't read articles, etc. Way too much money. P.S., I subscribe to Morningstar because I depend on the portfolio tracker in positioning my 80 individual stocks, i.e., large, mid, small, value, blend, growth.  I think they are expensive but at least I get real value from them.

You advertise free basic service.  Why the bait and switch now? Very poor decision making.
