Lots of negative feedback regarding the new format, but SA is tone deaf.

I'm guessing both traffic and revenue has declined since this new format was forced upon the readers. I now rarely visit the SA home page (I'm a subscriber to one of the contributors and so visit those pages).

Apparently, they haven't figured it out judging by their tone-deaf response to the 90%+(?) negative feedback.

I've seen this kind of over-engineering in the software industry: programmers have to put in their daily 8-hours and so add feature-creep, resulting in over-functional, bloated products.

Maybe, just maybe, it'll dawn on the powers-that-be when both traffic and revenue decline. Similar thing happened to Coca-Cola in 1985:

Jacob, how can you not notice that most comments bluntly dislike this new format, in total?

Have you not noticed the drop in traffic - and revenue (I'm guessing here, but I can't imagine the numbers being anything less than undesirable).

Incredible: this site is destroying itself with this new format that's been roundly panned judging by the feedback here. Maybe SA will finally get the message when paychecks bounce due to insufficient funds in the company's coffers.

Coca-Cola did the same thing back in 1985:

Questions to SA about this new format:

1) How much has your traffic dropped?

2) How much has your revenue likewise dropped?

3) How long will it take you to figure out that the first step to getting out of a hole is to stop digging?

1) A "14-inch PC" is a laptop screen.

2) The screen resolution is User customizable (less than 12-pt font. But that is irrelevant. What is relevant is the dual-column format, requiring Users to visually scan left-to-write

3) How to delete the Portfolio section, which I have no interest in?

4) I'm already a paying member of "The REIT forum" to the tune of $500 - which you get a cut of.

Dump the Editors' Picks section since it's behind a paywall and thus yet another irritating advertisement

To sum up, dump this new format. It is that bad.

Mobile phone screens are smaller than PC screens.

Why am I stating the obvious? Because SA doesn't seem to understand that point.

I use a 14-inch PC. Forcing me to scan left-to-right due to multiple columns is the height of poor design.

At the very least, give Users the choice of using the "classic" homepage format.

I HATE this new format.

Correctly: "The REIT Forum" link is not being displayed correctly
