How do I get all the ads to stop taking up half my page when I log on? I am not interested in any of the new offers and prefer not to have them as well as the banner ads every time I look at the site

I have ~10 cos. in my watchlist and I've noticed I have had NO new articles or comments etc. posted since 5/8 whereas I would normally have 2-3 a DAY, will someone please check why??
