Faulty Math on the new Paywall

So, I guess SA is just going to ride out the loss of a loyal community and ride the new PayWall into obscurity? I guess the idea is that you can lose about 6 users willing to pay $5/month as long as you can get one Premium subscriber at $30/month? That might work if you are willing to shrink your community baseby 86%, reduce your overall traffic so your ad revenue goes down and destroy the added value of the comments section on each article.

I just realized today that I had found replacement sources for most of the news, transcripts etc. that I used to get on SA. I formerly used your site every day, now it's dropping off my radar entirely. Once a website community starts to seem lonely and lifeless it just fades into history.

Most of us figured SA management would reconsider, but I guess not. Kinda sad really.
