different payments for same views

of 2 articles I have published this month, 1 has 1211 PVs and earned $103, the other has 1129 PVs and has earned $59. Nearly same number of views, but one has earned nearly 2x more than the other. I thought the PVs dictated the payment - am I missing something? Tks
