iPad login not working

I purchased premium subscription through Apple Store. When I try to use the app, it does recognize the subscription. It imposes an article limit and invites me to subscribe to Premium, etc. But when I press upgrade (just as an experiment) it says you already have this subscription (which is true).   I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, but this does not help


I'd like to add that this is a problem with my subscription, not with the app. The subscription simply doesn't work on any device. I'm denied access to premium content. But when I hit the upgrade button, it says that I already have a Premium subscription and can't upgrade. So, the screw up is with Seeking Alpha's online authentication systems. It's device independent.
