Press and Hold

How do I get away from the endless Press and Hold loop I get when opening articles?  I have a PRO account, no ad blocking.

I think that’s part of of the process

It can't be part of the process as it never goes away.  The screen is clouded over while the Press and Hold widget blocks the screen.  And it doesn't go away no matter how many times you press it.  It started before the holidays.
