First time since joining seeking alpha I’m Receiving a free article limit message for about a week now.Didn’t receive any email or notice about a change on the site and not sure if others are experiencing same issue or if it’s a glitch I’m experiencing.  If there is a new article limit how many is it and how/when does it reset?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!

In order to continue providing our users with outstanding financial analysis and news, we changed our Paywall policy in January 2021.

You can read more about this change here: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4396836-important-update-for-seeking-alpha-users

The good news is that you can still access any article on any stock, even without a paid subscription, though there is a monthly limit to how much you can read.

This limit is dynamic to the individual member, based on the device they use, the traffic source, and a number of other parameters. It resets itself every 28 days
.

If you want to keep reading past the limit, you can just go ahead and start your free two-week trial of Seeking Alpha Premium - no commitment required.

Premium, apart from providing you unlimited access to analysis articles also provides you with many other powerful tools that can help you with your investing. You can get an overview of the service here.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out in case further assistance is required.

Note to SA. The majority of my time on this site is seeing an interesting headline and skipping down to the comments. A significant number of articles are pump articles. And they are repetitive. So I don't read them anymore. I'm interested in the comment section where other investors like myself share their ideas and opinions. That's where the true value of seeking alpha is, investor comments and opinions. They provide market sentiment. I provide comments and opinions as well.

my thanks to the many other commenters over the years.

I'll check back abour once a month to see if your paywall policy changes back. Until then I have many other options.

No checking back for me, these idiots blew it! They've been losing me for years with how they operate.

Note to SA.  Since you have implemented this policy, I think you need to provide a way for non-paying users to know when their 28 day period started and how many articles they are still able to view.  To quote Subham Shresh, the Data QA Analyst on SA, "The good news is that you can still access any article on any stock, even without a paid subscription, though there is a monthly limit to how much you can read."

So why don't you tell me what my monthly limit is?  Is it one article a day, 10 articles a day?  100 articles in a 28 day period?  And when did my current 28 day period start?  How many more days until I can access any article?

While you cite a 2021 article, I never saw it back then.  You should have posted a current article to let people know this was about to happen rather than take everybody by surprise.

82ndVet... you're wasting your breathe trying to talk sense to idiots. They've proven they are by their behavior/mismanagement for years. It's over for them.

Hopefully they will reconsider this policy. My understanding is that authors get paid per click? I can't see very many authors contributing to a website that limits how many clicks each user can make. Terrible policy, worse implementation. We readers hate surprises. I plan to move on to another source of nees if this stands.

We've all slapped them in the face for awhile now. It looks like it stands. Fools.

Amazing with all the negative comments here that only one person from SA attempted to answer the deluge.  Someone from senior management needs to provide some clear and concise answers as to what is really happening here, otherwise you are just hiding behind your paywall.  Never a good strategy!

mjupp10... like all of us, you seem baffled by the idiocy of "senior management" and wondering where they are. He/she/it has been responding to our comments all along... the CEO is "Seeking more alpha than you". Read all their replies and you'll understand. They're hacks.

It looks like senior management finally chimed in here.

Haha... not really.

indeed. They also also have every right to change how their site works without warning, to poorly explain their free service, and not to respond to their customers' concerns. Which does not mean that such behavor is good for SA or their customers. The customers have, in turn, every right to be unhappy, voice this unhappiness and eventually leave.

People who browse the internet spend seconds evaluating options. They'll see the new SA and quickly be confused, see no value, then decide, spending more time would be a waste of their time.

You are wrong.  Dead wrong.  I am not affiliated with SA in any way much less the CEO.  I simply believe most everyone here is acting like an idiot about this matter and I’m voicing my opinion.

Remember when coca-cola discontinued their original formula?  Only to supposedly bring it back after the masses stopped by any coke products.  It is my belief the same thing might happen here if enough people completely delete their account. Then ad revenue will be lost and those people who have paid subscriptions will have to pay more to make up for the ad revenue losses.

To anyone still here or caring. I have posted many negative, but valid comments in the last several days, in part to purposely challenge SA to reply to us all. Not only are they not replying, they are deleting my posts. I'll be leaving this place soon, I hope anyone with sense will do the same. I can't support a company like this.

dimage54...No disrespect, but Coke is considered a large Blue Chip company with an excellent reputation and one that has sensible management. SeekingAlpha is not in terms of size, success and sensible management. Good sense on their part is a lot to hope for. Btw, thank you for your previous reply, it was helpful.
