New comments broken again

So, for a week or two from the last instance of it being broken it was fixed... clicking a thread in my New Comments daily email took me to new comments.  It's broken again.

Now, it's back to defaulting to Newest not Oldest - if we can't have each user select his/her own default, can't the default be logically Oldest (one scrolls down reading comments in chronological order) instead of Newest?

More importantly, half of my New Comments clicks take me to a post/article with no comments visible, as if I'm not logged on.  I suspect these are older dated postings/articles.  My work around is re-paste the URL into a different browser and it works.

Can you fix these please?  Thx
