Audio advertisements on SA

This morning I was reading SA as I often do, when my speakers started making odd squawking sounds. It took a minute or so, but I noticed the speaker icon on the upper right of one of my open SA tabs. I find it so disappointing that a) SA would resort to such a tacky, disruptive strategy to monetize its users and b) that it did so incompetently.

I'm sure many of us have been at a conference or a meeting in which someone opens his or her laptop an ad starts blaring in the middle of an otherwise focused room. Nobody likes that person. If I can't use my laptop without the risk of becoming that person, I won't use SA.
