It's finally working properly now.  Signed out and sign back in yesterday .  Latest update seems to have fixed the bug finally .

if you tap the change color area it toggles back and forth between percentage or amount at your choice. There is no issue here

sure. Both on my Samsung Android tablet and phone I get about 4 or 5 notifications a day at the top of my screen.  when I pull it down I see the same stocks and the same articles I've previously read and never* the most recent. I think it has appeared this way since the last Android update about a week ago. So that is my theory as to why.
