This happens when I click on notifications that inform me of new comments on articles and authors that I am following.  It could be a false alarm but please investigate and advise.  My email address is sam.sawyer@gmail.com.

Security issue

Just got a message from AVG saying they aborted a connection with Seeking Alpha because it was infected with JS:Downloader-FHY[Trj]

samiamaustin you have Troj: JS:Downloader-FHY [Trj]

samiamaustin you have Troj:  JS:Downloader-FHY [Trj]

pua.coinminer activity 5

As of this about 3 PM Central time on July 16th my Symantec Endpoint Protection throws an alert each time I load a SA page that calls out the following malware:  "pua.coinminer activity 5" - I've troubleshooted this on my end and it only occurs when visiting seekingalpha, I suggest you guys look into this.

Thanks,

Chris

Virus detected by AVAST
I have been getting a virus warning the last two days using Avast Anti-Virus when using SA

I noticed the last two days my Avast Ant-Virus has been giving me this
message quite often when I'm using Seeking Alpha:
We've safely aborted connection on sekingalpha.com because it was
infected with JS:Downloader-FHY (Trj)

Has anyone else had this problem?

Same as comment F below, as of this morning I'm getting the following message from Avast antivirus detailing the following problem: "JS:Downloader- FHY (Trj). Avast is closing all of your e-mail notifications.

Every time I try to open one of your e-mail notifications, as of this morning, I'm getting a virus alert from Avast, referencing the following virus "JS:Downloader-FHY (Trj). This has never happened before today.

Hi,

To provide some more transparency here. Avast & AVG (and possibly others) incorrectly identified a piece of our code as Malware. We have rectified this issue with them and you should no longer see this message. If you still see it, try closing your browser and re-opening Seeking Alpha.

To be clear, no malware, virus or data breach occurred here.

Please don't hesitate with any follow up questions.

Thanks,

Daniel

Same issue this AM with Avast antivirus claiming threat detected: JS: downloader-Fhy[Trj}. Multiple scans show no virus on my computer. So far only having the problem opening articles and accessing my comments (in yahoo email). Not in inbox. I can go to SA site to read articles. If continues I need to turn off my daily emails so i do not have to delete daily. I can access my SA portfolio. No other websites on my computer have a problem. No other yahoo emails have th problem. Only problem is with SA.

I have scanned my PC, restarted it, opened the browser, closed it, opened it again and I still receive the following error when visiting seekingalpha.com.

To clarify, the scan came back negative, no threats found on my local.

Yes. A few of us are battling this problem for a couple weeks. MSE detects it but MAL B and HitMan Pro doesn't.
