First time since joining seeking alpha I’m Receiving a free article limit message for about a week now.Didn’t receive any email or notice about a change on the site and not sure if others are experiencing same issue or if it’s a glitch I’m experiencing.  If there is a new article limit how many is it and how/when does it reset?

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out!

In order to continue providing our users with outstanding financial analysis and news, we changed our Paywall policy in January 2021.

You can read more about this change here: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4396836-important-update-for-seeking-alpha-users

The good news is that you can still access any article on any stock, even without a paid subscription, though there is a monthly limit to how much you can read.

This limit is dynamic to the individual member, based on the device they use, the traffic source, and a number of other parameters. It resets itself every 28 days
.

If you want to keep reading past the limit, you can just go ahead and start your free two-week trial of Seeking Alpha Premium - no commitment required.

Premium, apart from providing you unlimited access to analysis articles also provides you with many other powerful tools that can help you with your investing. You can get an overview of the service here.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out in case further assistance is required.

Judging by the lack of SA response or improved transparency to the concerns voiced here, I'm curious what alternative similar platform others have used or are moving to. I know there are various alternatives, but I'm just looking to save some time. TIA!

Really ? What happened to "The customer is King" ? And I am a customer, even if I only pay by accepting ads.

TO: Seeking more alpha than you

WHO are you, and how long have you been on SA's payroll? You show the same empathy and concern for readers as whoever made this decision, which is not much. Are you the decision-maker hiding behind a keyboard and a user name? Nobody is arguing what SA's rights are; this is all about tranparency. MitjaL, well said! Your words, especially in response to "S.M.A.T.Y." have summed up our collective complaints, frustration, and disappointment most eloquently. Thank you.

I am not on SA’s payroll nor am I employed by SA.  I simply find it ridiculous that anyone here thinks they have one iota of a right to complain.  This is SA’s site and they can charge what they want.  Those that don’t want to pay are not forced to be here.  SA did not have to provide any notice in their policy change.  Again, nobody here the teensiest eensiest right to complain.

I thought it was because I no longer subscribe to the various authors I was following. But you're saying that I have to pay a $99 a year to just get to this service? This is the first time I'm getting this limit, and you're saying the policy has been in place for a year and a half? In the end, the comments were oftentimes more informative than the articles. As noted above, I will have to go in and cancel all my email notifications. I hope SA gets around to changing their policy. It's been a great resource (member since 2008). GLTA

I don’t think SA should change their policy.  Since it’s a great resource as you said, it’s only fair that they make money from it.

not quite true. Seeking Alpha started as a free service and made their money by advertising revenue based on the amount of FREE subscriptions.  Just like all the other free social media platforms. Thus everyone was a customer.  If it wasn’t for all these free customers seeking alpha would have been out of business years ago.  Let’s see if they can stay in business once they lose 50% of their free subscribers.   I’m guessing at the 50% but it’s reasonable.  Might even be more but doubtful it’s less. We will never know because they will never be that transparent.  But if they revert back to the free service in a year or so then we will have the answer.  If they don’t revert great that’s their right. But my right is that I don’t have to subscribe.  I did go over to Motley Fool and subscribed for my 2 week free trial and then cancelled before I had to pay.  Didn’t do much for me and neither does premium on seeking alpha.

Agree, and disagree.  "This is SA’s site and they can charge what they want."  I don't see anybody complaining about that.  It's the lack of transparency that is drawing this crowd's ire.  We were blindsided.  Then SA says we were informed about this in Jan. '21, and there's even a document on line so stating and so dated.  Funny, none of us knew a thing until the last few days.  I'm a daily reader.  I have no recollection of this change in terms.  Now people are asking legit questions:  How many articles do I get for free?  When does the clock start and end?  No answers.  Not exactly "best publishing practices;" not "best customer relations/service practices."  Big red flags.  🚩
