This level of decision making certainly doesn’t give you a warm fuzzy about even considering subscribing.  If this is indicative of their decision making, maybe that’s why they are desperate for money.

I am a happy subscriber and have no issue with how SA has handled this situation.  This cleaning house so to speak was much needed.

I know that sounded funny in your head but it was lame.

Wasn’t meant to be funny.  If you are a kid, your response is reasonable. If you are adult, you response is pathetic. A business lying about its business model is not a good look.  Eventually it will only attract people like you.

I know that sounded intelligent to you but it wasn’t and your point is dead wrong.  Thanks for playing tho….

I have the same problem, got the message last month. Now, November 4th, attempted to read an article, the first one of the month, same message. Excuse me? I previously subscribed to one of their premium authors. The author experienced unreasonable censorship by SA and had to battle them constantly. Luckily, the author started a private service independent of SeekingAlpha, so I followed him there. This author was in the top three of 180 premium services. SA likely lost all those customers. It appears SA continues to cut their own throat. Good luck with that.

It’s their platform and they can do whatever they want with it.  I get that. I just don’t understand the lying and lack of transparency.  It was not put in place last year or whenever they say and why the mysterious secret formula for determining how many free articles per month. I assume their advertisers are interested in number of eyeballs and that number has dropped. Like others have mentioned, much of the value I received was from the comments and the comments from “free” members was just as worthwhile as from paying ones.  I was finding too many of the articles were click bait to push a subscription service or pump or dump articles about companies the author hoped to influence the trading action.  It was fun while it lasted.  I tried to find a way to delete my account but there doesn’t appear to be a way. I guess that let’s them manipulate the member count when talking to advertisers.
