Given the inevitable reduction in use, clicks, views, interest, it is had to imagine they come out ahead financially on this move, as social media makes more on advertising and being paid for views, clicks, viewers, etc., than it does on subscription revenue. Plenty of free sources, that allow commentary by readers as well.
As others have mentioned the subscription cost is too high and not worth the value you get. I'll probably be using seeking alpha less now because of this and looking for alternatives. I might be willing to pay something like $20 a year to read the occasional insightful article and comments, but no way what they're asking for currently.
This limit really sucks. If you want to hold your members make a cheap membership without a limit for reading articles. If not you will loose a lot of members...
The only members they are losing are the ones not paying. That doesn’t seem like much of a loss.
Is there anything we can do in the free tier? Can't even read news items. I see no option other than uninstalling the app.
