I hear you, but we get frequent complaints from readers about too much email, and we've found they're more likely to unsubscribe from everything rather than to distinguish between blogs, articles, or even which author they're following. With blogs the other issue is that they're the only email alerts we would send that don't go through some sort of review, so we are a little cautious around that.

Once you get rolling as a contributor (we look for authors with 750+ followers and 15+ articles, just to give you targets), email us at premiumauthors@seekingalpha.com, we'd be happy to consider a pitch for Marketplace.

Thanks for the message. This is something we only allow to Marketplace authors. The basic reasoning is that we're concerned about users getting too many emails, especially without any editorial screening (as you know, we don't screen blogs). We make an exception for Marketplace authors, as part of our partnership and because it's easier to monitor if anyone is overdoing it.

That alerts our editorial team to review and see if something is out of our guidelines. Politics inevitably are relevant to the economic and market conditions, but we do strive to make sure the article is focused on that economic/market analysis.
