Thank you so much for the extremely useful description of how you use the notification inbox and what you are missing from it.  We have been discussing this issue internally and will decide how to proceed based on user feedback..

A few questions for you (and for everyone on this thread):

If we would restore the notification inbox, how could we make it even better than it was ?  

Is it primarily about notifications or is it about the ability to save articles for later reference and recall them at will (also mark as unread) ?    e.g. Saving an article is something which you could do from anywhere e.g. long pressing or swiping on a notification in iOS, or clicking a save button inside any article  ?

 My concern about the notification inbox, based on feedback, is it might be being used as a long term storage of saved articles which is not what it was designed for.   People have complained on the forum that they "lost their notifications", now i think they possibly meant that they lost the carefully curated history that they expected would be retained long term and we disappointed them. Something like a saved articles storage would be permanent.
