This is now live in our system.
We will have someone on our tech team try and replicate the bug you're experiencing when they're back in the office next week (our tech team works Sunday-Thursday). As a general rule, how far are you scrolling up the chat before the issues start?
What browser were you viewing the site on? Also, do you remember what page of the site you were on at the time?
This info should help us be able to diagnose the issue here.
To add a bit more color, while we don't control our backfilled ads (like the Trump one - we'd never allow this kind of overt political ad knowingly (pro or con), if you can please screen cap it we'll try and get it blocked.
Thanks for your understanding.
For us to pinpoint the specific issue you mention here we need to know which the offending ad is. Please screen-cap the ad and use the 'insert image' function to paste it into your reply on this thread.
Thanks for alerting us to this issue. As we move to improve our ad blocker tracking in the future we will definitely keep your comments in mind.
You raise a valid concern. We are an ad-supported business and so we must sell ads to stay afloat. That said, we realize some users prefer to see a clean portfolio view, without ads interspersed. Which is why we created a simple 'turn off' mechanism for these ads.
Simply go to the 'Alerts' tab on your portfolio (http://seekingalpha.com/account/email_preferences). Under your portfolio holdings alerts settings, you will see an item titled 'TickerMatch', which provides an explanation of how the unit works if you mouse over the question mark and a checkbox with the words 'Disable stock and fund recommendations'. Simply check this box and you will no longer be served any ads within your left rail portfolio.
Hope this helps!

This is a valid request. We are in the process of rethinking several facets of the chat experience and while this is definitely a longer term project, we plan on offering more individual customization around chat.
Sorry for the inconvenience in the interim.
